31. Order Dermaptera (earwigs). Earwigs can be collected from underneath rocks, bark and other debris or in infested structures. At night, they may be found around lights. Adults can be killed in a jar containing a toxicant or by freezing before being mounted on insect pins. Nymphs should be preserved in alcohol.
